Misc. AULL Matches:

Los Ojos De Tigre I/II/Jr. vs King Cobra/Misterio/Psicopata (8/23/06): Well this was one of those few times you see random guys you've always read about but never seen and are disapointed.:( The tecnicos looked pretty fucking awful, especially Tigre I and Jr.... they blew a ton of spots. The rudos were alright but had nobody to work with. Psicopata in particular seems to have a TON of potential but needs the right guys to work with. All three tecnicos did dives at the end of the match but they were weak and the crowd didn't react at all. The rudos were actually cheered at the end of the match and rightfully so. Weird sentence of the day time: Stop making me watch the tigers, I want to see more ninja turtles - either regular or mutated!

Juan El Ranchero/Ogun/Rocky Santana vs Artillero/Super Comando/Misterio (9/6/06): Juan El Ranchero is the local fat guy who is really over but tries to do stuff he can't do at his size and ends up making everyone look like an idiot. Rocky Santana is the trainer at Arena Lopez Mateos and seems to be in better shape that I thought he would be. Moves really well for a guy his age. Ogun is... Gronda's brother. Well that's the gimmick at least. He's much smaller but seems to have the same problems... can't wrestle, can't sell, has no athletic ability and has very little natural charisma. The best part of the match was easily Artillero and Super Comando's split-masks(!!!). Why must I suffer and finally get these guys on TV only it's against 2 guys they can't work with?:( Ogun was quite scary in the first fall and almost killed Artillero various times including the finishing spot where he was going for an Atlantida-esque submission and stumbled which almost caused him to drop Artillero to the floor head-first. WOW. Juan El Ranchero tried to fly around but kept falling over and being laughed at by the crowd. He gassed out badly by the end of the fall. Santana was the only guy who got to look good working against his student Misterio. Second fall had the rudos take over and the beatdown last FOREVER! Even worse was they couldn't do many actual moves b/c the tecnicos were too big and/or didn't know how to sell them. So this beatdown took 10 minutes and even worse it didn't result in a finish! The tecnicos fought back and quickly got pinfalls on all the rudos. Did Santana call an audible? Pretty awful match.

Fabian El Gitano/Robin Maravilla/Ultimo Gladiador vs Krimen/Psicopata/Sepulcro (9/13/06): Yes, this is where I got that crazy Ultimo Gladiador animated .gif from. But... only the first fall of the match aired.:( It's okay b/c it was REALLY GOOD and REALLY LONG. There has to be something wrong with this match having its' first fall go longer than two of the matches on the CMLL PPV that actually went 3 falls.:/ Robin Maravilla again looked fantastic and seems to be the hidden gem of Arena Lopez Mateos if you like technical wrestling. Will smart marks really feel like praising a guy named Robin Maravilla when AULL footage begins circulating? I wonder. Ultimo Gladiador was the star of this though... never mind the fact he looks scarily like Rey Bucanero... he was hitting a TON of cool spots. He did a great setup for a 6-1-9 where he did a springboard over his opponent and dropkicked him on the way down, causing Krimen to fall right into position and Gladiador landed on his feet, then continued running to hit the 6-1-9! AWWWWWWWWWWWESOME! After the first fall ended, there were clips of the rest of the matches with music playing in the background. Looked like a really great match. First fall was enough for me to give this a thumbs up. I want to see more Ultimo Gladiador! And I will soon.:D

Dr. Wagner Jr. and Silver King vs La Parka and Super Parka (9/27/06): Pretty fun brawl which the crowd was really into. They took it all over the arena. Super Parka is looking O-L-D! It's a bit sad. They used all the usual tricks to avoid actual wrestling and just get by with comedy spots/brawling/posedowns. This had it's moments but I don't like seeing these type of matches in AULL. I'd rather time be spent on seeing the local guys we rarely get to see. A big EH.

But hey, to end this off - check out this AMAZING lineup for the next AULL TV Taping. Finally a promotion that is THINKING ABOUT THEIR FUTURE!!! Imagine that!!!

Notice how every match is listed as being an 'ESTRELLA'? This is a good thing. Notice how you could easily mix the card up and turn it into a regular indy show with a Mistico/Dos Jr./Sagrada vs Atlantis/Olimpico/Tarzan main event? The booking of this show is absolutely GENIUS! Every match looks interesting in it's own way. I can't wait to see Ultimo Gladiador and Olimpico working together, Mistico vs Krimen, Robin Maravilla vs Sepulcro, Villano III vs TORTUGA MUTANTE III and much more. AULL continues to be the best thing going right now.
